Research

The primary research interest is to understand the effect of Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation (TES) on different aspects of swallowing in order to improve the effectiveness of this treatment approach. Beside this interest on the TES effects on swallowing, we are passionate about the effects of aging on swallowing function.

Current Projects:

We are currently conducting two studies. In the first study, we are looking to see if a rehabilitation-based new treatment modality can improve oral moisture. This would be very helpful for older adults or patients who are dealing with dry mouth. The second study is aimed at understanding the effect of an optimized treatment on swallowing physiology. Please check the below flyers for further information and let us know if you are interested in participating in any of these studies.
