Learned to use the content management system, Omeka, for cultural object cataloging
Having super-user status allowed me to change vocabulary lists, metadata elements and their status (hidden or not), add definitions, etc.
Gained experience with researching historical information and how to record that information
Worked with metadata and knowledge organization while adding to a collection database
I continued the work on creating metadata standards that was begun by another intern in the spring semester.
I created a guide for updating existing records to the current standards.
I added and updated records as needed to adhere to the standards
Established contacts with professionals in the field of metadata and content management and data collection
We worked on compiling a list of updates we wanted for the website and the database interface.
