This digital collection contains a small sampling of the mementos that Max Howarth Parker left behind when he passed away in July of 2011. The selected items are from Mr. Parker's training and service as an electronics technician in the United States Navy around the end of World War II. Objects include correspondence, uniform pieces, and personal items.
Max Parker trained in San Diego and Del Monte, California before being stationed at Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco. Afterward, he returned to civilian life, became an engineer, and married his sweetheart, Cleone Hale. Together they had five children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Max Parker Naval Service Collection was built as a term project for course LIS 60638 at Kent State University. The Collection is a member library of The Personal History Collection, which was designed and built as a group project for the same course. The Personal History Collection is not currently available for public viewing.
