Yōshinkan Kendo

Yōshinkan Kendo Club

The meaning of Yōshinkan is ‘to nurture spirit, soul and mind’.

The club exists to develop ‘kendoka’ who are committed to making themselves better people by practicing in an environment that reinforces the dignity, courtesy, efficiency and ‘reigi’ (etiquette) of Kendo.

Yōshinkan Kendo Club was established on May 4th 2001 (originally called Hutt Kendo Club) and was named ‘Yōshinkan’ by Ozawa Hiroshi Sensei Kendo Hachidan Hanshi who was the author of the 'Definitive Guide to Kendo' and runs a dojo in Nakano, Tokyo.
