What is AVID?
AVID is a national program that stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
It is a year long elective class that helps students with many skills that will help them in the future. AVID class starts with the basics of practicing organzation, keeping up with an agenda and taking better notes. Then it progresses to practicing leadership skills, speaking skills, communication skills and includes student-led AVID tutorials to help support students in their rigorous classwork.
Overall, it is a safe enviroment to learn and helps to support students!

We love taking our parents with us on every adventure. If you want to hang with the cool kids this year the 23-24 volunteer applications are now open.
Do you plan to:
Accompany a group of students on a field trip?
Help with PTA events?
Serve as a volunteer on our campus?
Chaperone at a school event?
If you answered ‘YES’ to any of the above options, you must complete a volunteer application. An application is required each school year and only one application needs to be submitted for any of our KISD campuses.
To apply, please complete the following steps:
Go to kellerisd.net. Select Get Involved > Volunteers.
Select the green link to complete the volunteer application
Please log in or create an account if it’s your first time applying, then proceed with completing the application
You will receive an email once your application is approved. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete an application as approval may take up to two weeks.
