Instrument Selection

Hello future Indian Springs Band Families!

We are excited for your upcoming band journey and cannot wait to meet you all soon! Please use this website as a reference to learn about the various instruments we teach and how we help match each musician with the perfect instrument!

If you are ready to be a part of the band all you need to do is sign up for band and we will take care of the rest. Students will be paired with instruments based on their interest, physical features, and attributes through the instrument selection process. If you have any questions regarding the instrument selection process or the Indian Springs Band program, please do not hesitate to contact us at caroline.caves@kellerisd.net.

School owned instruments will be distributed once we are back at school next fall. School owned instruments include the Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Euphonium, and Tuba.  Instruments that families will need to rent or purchase from the music store are the Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion.

**Please hold off on purchasing or renting an instrument until you have heard from us about what instrument you will learn next year.  Once we have placed your child with their instrument, they can begin gathering the necessary supplies to have a successful year. We recommend Bell's Music or any other reputable music store. The supplies you’ll need for each instrument can be found on our website!

On a personal note: Please do not let money stop your student from joining our band! We are passionate about exposing students to the wonderful world of band and are willing to do whatever it takes to help a highly motivated child become a part of our band family. If the music stores cannot work out a payment plan that works for you, or if any other special arrangement needs to happen, please contact us directly. Ask us – we can help!
