Zoom Master Schedule: In order to provide a consistent schedule for classroom meetings, teacher availability, and managing multiple students on Zoom in the same household, we have created a master schedule. The schedule below will not change during the duration of eLearning. So please count on us to be available and add these to your family's weekly schedule.
Live: This time is reserved for mini-lessons, quick check-ins, and group conference calls to let students ask questions and talk to the teacher as well as each other. Your child may not need to be in the Zoom meeting for the entire time. Your child's teacher will share the Live plan in their Sunday email.
Office Hours: Designed for teachers to provide support to help meet individual students' needs. Your child's teacher will send out the process for you to sign-up. Appointments may be limited in time so that teachers can meet with multiple families during this time.
Get Together: Morning meetings have a new eLearning name! Please join your class in your weekly Thursday Get Together!
Recordings: All Zoom Meetings will not be recorded.
Student Zoom Expectations: Students are expected to show their Maverick PRIDE when participating in Zoom meetings.
4th Nine-Week Grades
For the current, fourth nine-week grading period, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and first grade will continue to provide the standards-based report card. Students in grades 2-12 will be assigned a “Pass” or “Fail” grade for each of their courses. Parents will no longer see daily grades, only an overall Pass or Fail for the grade and/or course at the end of the nine weeks. Please reach out to your teacher/administrator if you have questions or concerns regarding the fourth nine-week grade.
Pass/Fail
In order for a student to “Pass” for the fourth nine-week grading period, teachers will evaluate student participation within the content. Our goal is to provide an abundance of support so that every student has ample opportunity to be successful. Students can show the participation with content in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, completing weekly lessons, submitting weekly lessons, participating in online instruction, phone calls/Zoom meetings with their teachers, etc. Each teacher will provide specific guidance on what this looks like for each class by Monday, April 6.
Definition of Student Participation:
During the fourth nine weeks participation is considered any engagement a student has with a class activity, Zoom meeting, one on one conference, work on an assignment, uploading an assignment, commenting on a class discussion, email, or phone call etc.
