BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Battle of the Books is a reading program designed to improve reading comprehension and enthusiasm for reading using a fun and unique competition format. Participants are given a reading list of ten books and challenged to read as many books on the list as possible before the competition. Students will compete in teams to determine their knowledge and understanding of the books. This year’s books have been carefully selected to include a variety of genres, reading levels, and themes. This assortment of books provides a selection to appeal to reluctant as well as enthusiastic and mature readers. All Battle of the Books selections are available for checkout through the school library. The following titles have been selected for this year’s competition:
Zeus and the Thunderbolt of Doom
by Joan Holub
Because of the Rabbit

Frankie Sparks and the Class Pet
