　ワクチンモデルナの異物混入に関して、8月26日に発表された第1報のとおり、異物混入リスクが否定できないとされる対象ロットのワクチンは、慶應義塾の接種会場において、使用停止の措置をいたしました。昨日、厚生労働省は、当該ロットの異物混入に係る調査結果を発表いたしました。

○調査結果の概要

  • 混入した異物は、製造機器の破片（ステンレス）であること。

  • ステンレスは、心臓の人工弁や金属製のステープルなどの医療機器に使用されており、極めて小さな粒子状の金属が仮に筋肉内に注入された場合でも医療上のリスクが増大する可能性は低い。

  • 当該ロットについては、９月２日から回収する予定。

　また、厚生労働省は、神奈川県の接種拠点で使用されたCOVID-19ワクチンモデルナに異物混入が発見されたことを公表しましたが、慶應義塾の接種会場では、当該ロット（3005286）のワクチンは使用していないことをお知らせいたします。

　ワクチンモデルナの異物混入に関して、8月26日に発表された当該ワクチンのロットは既報のとおり、慶應義塾の接種会場において、使用停止の措置をいたしました。その後、厚生労働省は、沖縄県および群馬県の接種拠点で使用されたCOVID-19ワクチンモデルナに異物混入が発見されたことを公表しましたが、慶應義塾の接種会場では、当該ロット（沖縄県: 3005293、群馬県: 3005236）のワクチンは使用していないことをお知らせいたします。

　なお、慶應義塾では、ワクチンに異物の混入がないことを目視で確認したうえで接種を実施しております。

　本日、武田薬品工業株式会社から、COVID-19ワクチンモデルナの特定のロットについて複数の接種施設で異物混入があったという連絡が入りました。

　慶應義塾新型コロナワクチン職域接種会場におきましても、以下のとおり異物混入リスクが否定できないとされる対象のロットのワクチンを使用しておりました。なお、当会場で使用したワクチンについては、目視での異物混入は確認されておりません。

  1. 対象ロット番号：「3004667」

  2. 使用期間：8月18日（水）15時50分頃から25日（水）

　ご自身の接種したワクチンのロット番号は接種記録書（2回目欄のシール）で確認できます。

　なお、武田薬品工業株式会社によると、これまでに対象ロットの異物混入に関して安全性上の懸念に関する報告はないとのことです。詳細は武田薬品工業株式会社のウェブサイトをご参照ください。

Regarding foreign substances found in Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

As we first announced on August 26 regarding foreign materials that have been found in Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, we suspended the use of potentially contaminated doses from the lot in question at Keio vaccination site. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced yesterday the results of their investigation regarding the incident.


〇 Summary of the survey results

  • Foreign materials that have been found in some doses of the vaccine are pieces of manufacturing devices (stainless steel).

  • As stainless steel is used for medical devices, such as artificial heart valves and metal staples, it is unlikely that injection of extremely small particles of metal into muscles, if at all, would result in increased medical risk.

  • The lot in question is scheduled to be recalled from September 2.

Also, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has announced that foreign materials have been found in the doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine used at a vaccination site in Kanagawa prefecture; however, we would like to inform you that doses of the vaccine from the lot "3005286" are not used at Keio vaccination site.

As informed on August 26, regarding foreign substance found in Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, Keio has suspended the workplace vaccination for the specific lot number. Soon afterward, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced that foreign substances were found in COVID-19 vaccine used at the vaccination sites in Okinawa and Gunma prefectures. The applicable lot used in Okinawa prefecture: 3005293 and Gunma prefecture: 3005236 has not been used at the workplace vaccination at Keio.

Furthermore, visual check for foreign materials has been set before the use of vaccine at the workplace vaccination at Keio.

We have been notified by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. today that doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine that fall under specific lot numbers have found to contain foreign materials at several vaccination centers.

Potentially contaminated doses with the lot number below were used for the Workplace Vaccination at Keio also, though we did not find any foreign materials through our visual check in the doses used at our vaccination site.

  1. The lot number concerned: 3004667

  2. Period of Use: From around 15:50 on Wednesday, August 18 to Wednesday, August 25

Please refer to the Record of Vaccination (the sticker for your second dose) to check the lot number of the dose you received. The sample of the Record of Vaccination is as below:

According to Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., it has not received any reports concerning the safety of the doses that fall under the lot number in question which may contain foreign materials.
