Transitions is a course that provides an overview of key aspects, knowledge, and skills needed for the transition from high school to adult life. Students will identify their educational and/or career goals; develop plans/goals based on awareness of personal interests, strengths, and areas for development; become familiar with career and educational opportunities, resources, and services; and explore strategies for academic and career success. The goal of this course is to enhance the student’s ability to recognize, describe, and discuss what is important to them and what they hope to accomplish in school, career, and in life; giving students with insight into their unique learning preferences and patterns, how students can make the most of their strengths and weaknesses, and provide students with guidance on setting life-long goals.
Course Competencies:
T1 Post Secondary: The student can explore, research, and analyze post secondary career and educational options to prepare for transition to post high school training/educational opportunities.
T2 Goals: The student can identify, set, work towards, and reflect on long and/or short term goals to support the development of effective lifelong learning.
There is no assigned homework for this course.
All student work is posted via google classroom. Grades are updated within 2 weeks of a student submitting an assignment. Students are expected to schedule flex time with Mrs. Biemer in order to discuss and develop plans to improve grades, remediate assignments, and/or recover competencies.
