Reassessment:
Kearsarge Regional High School encourages academic growth through traditional and innovative opportunities. To do this successfully, a student must be able to reflect upon their learning. A Reassessment Plan allows students to accept responsibility for their learning by taking the initiative to develop a plan with their teacher to take a reassessment upon completing the reassessment plan. Reassessment policies are articulated in each course syllabus and established by each academic department as the process for reassessment can be impacted by the unique circumstances of different courses. Click the link for an example of a Reassessment Plan Form.
The foundation of all reassessment opportunities includes:
Student demonstration of a good faith effort to complete the initial summative assessment.
Student advocacy for their learning and initiates the process of reassessment by communicating with the teacher their desire to reassess/remediate their learning.
The student and teacher develop a mutually agreed-upon plan for a reassessment.
Teachers determine if a student’s work habits merit any attempt at remediation
Also to note:
In any reassessment opportunity, the higher grade will be recorded.
Final and midterm assessments are not open to reassessment.
Early College at Your High School Program (Formerly Running Start (RS)) and Advanced Placement (AP) courses will follow college and university-level expectations.
