Brief Course Description: This course is open to any student who has successfully completed Algebra II and one year of geometry. It naturally follows Algebra II and includes a significant amount of trigonometry. Other topics will include sequences and series, exponents and logarithms and complex numbers.
COURSE COMPETENCIES * Note: A minimum level of 2 must be earned in all competencies in order to earn credit for this course.
- Right Triangle Trig and Properties of the Unit Circle – 28 1/3%
- Vectors and Non-Right Triangle Trig – 28 1/3%
- Analytic Trig – 28 1/3%
- Advanced Math Topics – 15%

Grading:
Formative Assessments are for learning. These will be graded based on the depth of knowledge you are able to demonstrate through their completion. These will inform you, your parent(s), and your teacher of your ability with regard to the standard. Formative assessments may include:
● Quizzes
● In-Class Assignments, Note Taking, Activities, and Discussions
● Homework
Summative Assessments are of learning. The mean score on multiple summative assessments within each learning target will make up your overall score for that competency. The mean score of your competency grades will determine your overall grade in the course. Each assessment will target specific standard(s) and competencies. Summative assessments will include:
● Projects
● Tests & Exams
During the 2025-2026 school year, grades in PowerSchool will be updated at a minimum of every two weeks starting September 19, 2025.
Extra Help: It is highly recommended that you schedule time during the Flex period whenever possible to catch up on work, get extra help, or make up missing work/assessments.

Materials: There will be no shared classroom materials.
