Title I is the largest federal aid program for public schools in the United States.
Sessions typically last 30 minutes daily, and are offered 4-5 times per week.
The funding provides additional support and instruction in reading and math.
Parental involvement is key to the success of the Title 1 Program and our students!
What are other students doing while my child is working with Title I?
We are never pulling your child out of class instruction time! There is time that is scheduled throughout your child’s day that is meant for independent and group work. Students see us during that time.
How do you determine whether or not Title I is working for my child?
We monitor your child’s progress frequently! We also meet with teachers and specialists regularly to be sure our approach is the right one..
How do you know when my child is ready to be released from Title I?
Our goal is to help your child close the gap between what they know and grade level expectations. Sometimes students close that gap very quickly, and others need more time. Since we have been monitoring their progress, we are able to discuss with teachers we feel they have made enough progress to be released.
What happens if Title I is not working for my child?
If a child is not making the progress we expect, we first try to see why. Sometimes the setting or group is not the right choice for a student, and it is a relatively simple shift to make it work. Other times we may need to adjust our interventions specifically to better target what the child is struggling with.
