Kappa Delta Rho's National Philanthropy
KDR has raised a total of roughly over 5k For the Andrew McDonough B+ (Be Positive) Foundation, Last semester was our personal best in which we raised just close to 3k with Our Car Smash, Raffle, and Pie a Rho.
This Semester we Hope to double our efforts from last semester, our tentative events as of know our Powder Puff Tournament, Dunk Tank, and Percentage Nights.
The Andrew McDonough B+ (Be Positive) Foundation honors the life of Andrew McDonough. Andrew battled leukemia, septic shock and complications of childhood cancer for 167 days before passing away on July 14, 2007, at the age of 14. Andrew’s B+ blood type became his family and friends’ motto throughout his fight against childhood cancer – to “Be Positive.”
The B+ Foundation is about kids helping kids fight cancer – We raise money through events on college campuses, local events like 5Ks and Golf Outings, corporate partnerships, merchandise sales, and more – to provide financial and emotional support to families of children with cancer nationwide and fund critical, cutting-edge childhood cancer research.
KDR Gamma Beta Local Philanthropy
On top of the B positive Foundation the members of Gamma Beta work together with other on-campus organizations to help support Movember, a men's mental health awareness and prevention movement. Men's mental health is something the brothers of KDR pride themselves on supporting.
