Who is KDR?
KDR is a dynamic and growing brotherhood dedicated to fostering lifelong bonds, developing leadership skills, and giving back to the community. Founded on the principles of friendship, service, and personal growth, we are committed to providing a supportive environment where young men can thrive.
Kappa Delta Rho was re-founded on Virginia Tech's campus in Fall of 2021. With 33 students looking to be chartered by the end of Spring 2023, members of Gamma Beta Achieved an average GPA of 3.161 and achieved a Standards of Excellence score of Gold our first year back on campus.
This fraternity is made up of diverse individuals from all walks of life who are united by a shared vision of making a positive impact on the world. Our members are encouraged to take an active role in the fraternity and to bring their unique skills and perspectives to the table. This creates a dynamic and exciting atmosphere where everyone can grow and achieve their professional, academic, and personal goals.
Here at KDR we follow a code known as "Brother's Keeper." Being a "brother's keeper" means being there for each other through thick and thin, offering support, encouragement, and a shoulder to lean on when needed. It is often used in relation to our brothers' mental health and good decision-making. It means taking an active interest in each other's lives and helping each other achieve our goals, as well as creating a sense of community where everyone feels valued, respected, and appreciated.
This principle is at the heart of what it means to be a member of Kappa Delta Rho. Our members are encouraged to form close bonds with each other and to look out for one another, both in good times and in bad. Whether it's helping a brother prepare for a big exam, lending a hand with a community service project, or simply being there to listen, our members are always there for each other.

Brother's Keeper
Being a "Brother's Keeper" allows us to keep each other accountable academically, socially, and personally so that we can become the best version of ourselves as we move forward.
Being a "brother's keeper" is more than just a catchphrase. It's a fundamental aspect of our identity as a fraternity and a guiding principle that shapes everything we do. The principle of being a 'brothers' keeper' is deeply embedded in KDR's ethos and fosters a sense of responsibility, compassion, and support for each other that goes beyond friendship.
Being our "brother's keeper" is about more than assisting each other. It's about developing a family-like environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow and achieve their full potential. This is what we believe sets KDR apart from other organizations at Virginia Tech.

About KDR National
Kappa Delta Rho was founded on May 17, 1905 at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. Since then we have grown to 25,000+ initiated members and have 37 active chapters across the country. These individuals have accepted the challenge of Kappa Delta Rho to strive to place Honor Above All Things in their daily lives by:
Embracing the principles and spirit of the Kappa Delta Rho Gentleman, treating all those they encounter with dignity and respect;
Working diligently in the pursuit of their education, understanding that they are students first and that the quest for knowledge is an endeavor which lasts a lifetime;
Meeting all of their obligations to the Fraternity in a timely manner, as to ensure that they are doing their share and they are not a burden to their brothers;
Engaging in the service of mankind, not for the praise or recognition that such service may bring, but because it is the right thing to do;
Serving as their brother’s keeper, holding one another accountable for their actions; and
Supporting their Alma mater, that she may regard Kappa Delta Rho as a partner in the development of her students.
