Daniel Ibarra, Founder

Dan founded KCV Capital in 2004 to advise commercial real estate owners on lending and acquisitions. The letters KCV were the initials of his pets at the time--Kobi (dog), Camondongo (cat) and Verdul (cat).

Prior to founding KCV Capital, he worked in the financial services sector, primarily in fundraising and M&A. After beginning his career as a commercial lender with Wells Fargo Bank, Dan then covered middle market companies as an investment banker with DLJ (now Credit Suisse) and Jefferies.

He founded KCV Loans in 2014 as the country’s first online exchange for matching commercial real estate borrowers with institutional balance sheet and conduit lenders. The company closed over $18 million in small balance loans.

Dan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Finance (magna cum laude) from Arizona State University. He is an advisor to entrepreneurs through the HBS StartUp Partners program.

He has a teen-aged daughter and Uptown Funk is his go-to karaoke song.
