Old Magazines (which you are willing to part with, permanently)

Donated magazines must meet the following criteria:

• Appropriate for 7th graders to look through; they do not need to be at a 7th grade reading level for this assignment.

• Please rip out any articles or ads with inappropriate content before sending to school.

• If possible, we would like to have 6 issues of the same magazine for this project. If you only have one or two issues, that's fine.

• The goal of the project will be to use inferencing skills to determine the characteristics of the intended audience for this magazine, so ads, text features, article titles and photos will be examined closely.

• Very old magazines are fine, too. Only 6 issues, though, please.

• We would love to have magazines geared for a variety of audiences: men, women, little children, boys, girls, teens, travelers, hobbyists, athletes, etc.

Donations for the Treasure Box of Fabulous Prizes could include items such as:

• Small items! Not necessarily new, but in good condition.

• Small stuffed animals

• Fidgets

• Stickers

• Decorative keychains

• Costume jewelry

• Fun erasers

• Pencils, pens, highlighters

• bookmarks

• Small picture frames

• Desk decorations

• Dollar store stuff

• No food, gum, liquid, nail polish, glass, make up, lip balm, lotions or perfume, please.
