The best way to contact me is via email:
csavich@kcsd96.org
I will do my best to answer all emails within 24 hours on weekdays.
Before emailing, please check Schoology for homework questions and TeacherEase for updates on your student's grades and homework completion rate so that we both are up to date on the latest information about your student's progress.
The Learner Responsibility targets will give you a good indication of your student's commitment to his/her homework, participation, organization and readiness to learn. I hope that we can work together to help your student develop excellent work habits during in middle school so that he/she has these to rely on throughout life.
Please assume that everything I say to you this year and everything that I do has your student's best interests at heart. I want your child to succeed as much as you do!
If you get a report of misbehavior, please know that you are hearing about it because we have already tried unsuccessfully to work with your student directly to correct the problem or because the problem is serious. We do not contact parents for minor issues which we can easily solve on our own because we want students to develop a sense of ownership for their own behavior.
First, an individual teacher speaks to a student privately about an issue. If that does not work, we talk the situation over as a team of teachers to see if any other teacher has been able to help the student find a new path toward success. If we are unable to solve the problem without your help, you will hear from us. Often one of us will write to you representing the entire team of teachers, so you can see that the issue is occurring in more than one class. At that point, we feel like we need your help, and we would like your support to get back on track.
Looking forward to a successful year of partnership with you,
Mrs. Savich
