Phillips 66 Community STEM Scholarship Program
High school seniors planning to pursue a full-time STEM degree or certification may apply for the Phillips 66 Community STEM Scholarship, administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest scholarship management organization.
Award amounts:
$5,000 per year for students attending a four-year college or university
$2,000 per year for students attending a community college or vocational-technical school
Up to 66 awards available
Renewable for up to three years based on GPA, enrollment, and continued STEM study
Eligibility highlights:
High school seniors
Full-time enrollment in an accredited two-year, four-year, or vocational-technical program
Pursuing a STEM field
Interest in careers in oil and gas, manufacturing, or chemical industries
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Recipients are selected based on academics, leadership, work experience, career goals, financial need, and personal circumstances. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and required supplies. Applicants are notified in April, with payments issued in August.

It is also open to anyone completing their initial teacher licensure (residency candidates) interested in teaching CTE engineering or technology, middle or high school math or science, elementary education, or special education. The student must agree to teach in an NC Public School for 1 year for each year of funding they receive. This scholarship/loan is also open to any teacher assistant who has an associate of arts or science and is interested in the elementary TAs to Teachers program.
If you're passionate about Health Science and STEM research, you can intern locally with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in downtown Kannapolis! Through the Nutrition Research Institute, you'll gain hands-on experience by supporting daily lab and research operations, while also learning about the protocols involved in working with human subjects in research studies.
