ABOUT US:
KCPS LIT, or Leaders in Training, is an innovative initiative by Kansas City Public Schools designed to empower and develop student leaders through hands-on experiences and engagement. Students from all KCPS area schools gather to learn, share ideas, and receive professional learning from industry leaders throughout the community. This experience offers students opportunities to engage in leadership activities and client-connected projects with community leaders.
KCPS (LIT) program has been making a significant impact for over 4 years, empowering more than 350 students. Through its leadership development initiatives students are to equip with essential skills for college and career success. The LIT program focuses on personal growth, academic achievement, and community engagement, fostering a generation of young leaders equipped to face future challenges. By participating in workshops, mentoring, and hands-on projects, students gain invaluable experiences that inspire them to become active contributors to their communities. More importantly, KCPS LIT, contribute positively to their schools and foster a culture of leadership and civic responsibility!
