Art Tips For Beginner Artists
By Daniela Montoya
Do you want to get better at art? Have you ever wondered what you can do to get better? Well in this article I will be telling you tips and tricks for sketching, calligraphy, and watercolor. If you want to learn more, grab your art utensils and let’s get started!
When you just start learning art it’s very important to never give up, have confidence, and practice what you just learned. With those three things in mind try setting goals and having a positive attitude. Nobody's perfect but to be great at something you have to have a positive mindset.
Sketching Tips
If you don’t know what sketching is, sketching is when you create art only using pencils. Even though they are not colorful they are very good looking and fun to create. When you think of sketching, shading is one very important thing because it helps your drawing look realistic and helps shape your drawing. To shade you need to think of light, so you need to identify the shadows and light resources. To sketch shadows it’s better to add more pressure since that creates a darker tone of gray, and for the light resources it’s important to add little pressure.
Calligraphy Tips
Calligraphy is up to only your imagination, your perseverance, and your creativity. You can write in many different fonts and even create one yourself! If you’re starting on calligraphy I recommend holding your brush pen diagonally and practicing different exercises. I would also recommend practicing each and every letter when you get the hang of your marker. If you keep on going you will be able to easily learn more fonts and details to make dazzling pieces of art.
Watercolor Tips:
If you’re starting to learn watercolor the first thing you need to do is to learn the two watercolor techniques: Wet on wet and Wet on dry. Wet on wet is when you add wet paint to a wet paper and wet on dry is when you add watercolor to a dry piece of paper. These techniques create two different but great effects. The amount of water is also very important if you’re painting with watercolor. The more water you add the lighter the color becomes and the less you add the stronger it becomes.
Learning art is a fun process and it’s very interesting. So keep on going and if you like art never give up. It’s all about patience and practice. Remember: You first have to fail to learn to succeed. I really hope these tips and tricks help you learn more and help you improve your art. Thanks for reading this article, bye!
