With English Open Day approaching, excitement is buzzing in the classrooms! To ensure the success of this annual event, the entire ID team has been working collaboratively, from planning to practicing. Yet, our students are also dedicating themselves to this end-of-year presentation with great effort.
By running a campaign, G6 students are raising awareness among their audience about societal issues. "We designed our own mascots to add some flavor to the campaign," said a G6 student. Sharing their family traditions, G2 students are practicing how to use props to engage their audience. "This has also encouraged natural conversation rather than memorizing a script," said Ms. Saccomano. The preparations aren't just for successful presentations; they also allow students to create special memories with their parents.

On April 3, 2024, the strongest earthquake in 25 years struck Taiwan. It was just about the time when students were arriving at school. The buildings were shaking massively; things fell off desks and shelves. At that moment, most of the students were scared, but they immediately hid under their desks or protected themselves with their bags.
Thanks to the earthquake drill held every year, our students knew how to handle this unexpected situation. "The DSA has told us if a real earthquake occurs, we should go under the table, and wait for the broadcast instructing us to evacuate to the soccer field," said a G6 student. KCIS prioritizes safety through the drill, and after this experience, we are more certain that practicing a regular drill is essential for building a prepared and resilient school community!
