Waves of Sound
Waves of Sound
The first KCFS project for the Grade 6 students this semester was to design a Super Speaker. In a speaker, soundwaves are produced when a magnet makes a voice coil vibrate. Every sound that you hear has a different volume and pitch. The volume is how loud or quiet the sound is. The pitch is how deep or high the sound is. A deeper pitch is an owl hooting whereas a higher pitch is a mouse squeaking.
Challenge:
Combine the volume and pitch soundwave graphs above to complete the graphs below. Take your drawings to your KCFS teacher. If the sound waves you drew are correct, your teacher will give you a stamped note that you can take to the ID office for a nice prize!
