Bearcat Singers is a musical theater camp for 3rd and 4th graders that focuses on building a strong foundation in performance and teamwork. Students work together as an ensemble, learning that cooperation is essential to a successful production. By exploring different characters and stories, campers develop emotional empathy and gain the self-confidence needed to express themselves comfortably in front of an audience.
The program also emphasizes physical and cognitive growth through structured rehearsals. Campers practice clear speech and purposeful movement, learning how to use their voices and bodies to communicate effectively on stage. Memorizing lyrics and choreography strengthens memory skills, while theater games encourage creative problem-solving. By the end of the week, students will have developed practical performance skills and a better understanding of how to work collaboratively toward a shared goal.
