Family Life

Lonnie Johnson's mom's name is ''Arline'' and his dad's name is ''David''. Lonnie Johnson's Mother completed high school and became a nurse's aide; his Father did not complete high school and became a World War ll veteran who worked as a civilian driver at Brookley Field, the local Air Force base. They had 2 sons and 3 daughters.

Education & Career

Lonnie Johnson attended Linnie B. Willison high school and then other high schools. Lonnie Johnson then graduated at the age of about 20 years old. Lonnie Johnson invented a robot named ''Linex'' in 1989, at the age of about 40 years old. Lonnie Johnson got a Bachelor's degree at Tuskegee University in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering at the University.

Lonnie Johnson always wondered if he could do big things in the world, that way he can change our world. One day Lonnie Johnson was making an experiment in his bathroom; he put a pipe to the sink and turned on the water...and...WHOOSH! the water burst out of the pipe. Lonnie Johnson then used his experiment and made it into a creation. Lonnie Johnson finished his experiment and named it the "Super Soaker,'' a water gun that has its own shape and water inside and you can spray it around. Lonnie Johnson changed our world with one thing that every kid wants. The kids can even play with the very powerful water gun that Lonnie Johnson made for a very hot sunny day.

Lonnie Johnson is the founder and President of Johnson Research and Development and founder and chairman of Johnson Energy Storage and JTEC Energy. Lonnie Johnson had 250 patents.
