Basic Category examples– animals, body parts, clothes, colors, days of the week, desserts, food, letters, names, numbers, relatives, rooms, shapes, sounds, toys, words
Examples: What is the function of an object? (pizza – eat it); What is the function of an animal? (chicken – lays eggs); Identify what people do (A chef - makes food)
Use your senses! What would you see, smell, taste, hear, touch?
All objects are made up of one or more materials! For example, a table is made of wood, so wood is a material.
Example of a Flower: Parts of the object: stem, petal, piston, bud; Associated parts: sunlight, water, soil
For example, a car could be found: on the road, at a dealership, in the garage, in a repair shop, in a driveway, in a parking lot
For example, I like it or I don't like it.

PARTS - A dog can have a collar, leash, bone, and crate.
WHERE? – You can find a dog at my house, the vet, a pet store, or at the dog park.
WHAT ELSE? My dog’s name is Nalu. I like dogs.
A dog is a brown and furry animal that can bark. A dog has four paws , a tail, and likes to chew a bone. I like to play with my dog Nalu at the dog park, but I don’t like when he barks.
