Ms. Kennedy

Welcome to first grade!

My name is Krystal Kennedy and I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this school year! I was born in California, but I moved to Katy during junior high school. I have 6 siblings and I am the second oldest. I love Disneyland and all things Disney, so I try to visit Disneyland every year. I have attended Katy ISD schools from junior high through high school and am excited to be part of a district that values such quality education. I graduated from the University of Houston in Spring 2019. Last year, I was a student teacher at Franz in a Kindergarten class. This is my first year as a Franz Firebird and I'm so excited to work with you and your child this school year!

snacks & water

Please send one snack with your child daily. Snacks should be healthy, small, and should not require a utensil. Please be mindful of possible allergies and refrain from sending snacks containing peanut products.

You may also send one bottle of water with your child to keep in the classroom.

birthdays

Feel free to send in store bought treats per school policy. Please check with me for our class size, as it may change throughout the school year. If your child has a summer birthday, you can send treats for a celebration on their half birthday (just let me know)!

Extra Clothes

Accidents happen from time to time. Whether students have a simple bathroom accident, they spill something on their clothes while at lunch, or maybe got into a puddle at recess, it is important that you provide an extra pair of clothes (in a bag) and keep this in their backpack. This will make things much easier if ever necessary.

Scholastic Books

I will be sending home monthly Scholastic book orders with your child. You will find these books less expensive than bookstore prices, so they are a great way to expand your child’s library. In addition, our classroom will receive bonus books every time you order.

The easiest way to place an order is online at: www.scholastic.com/readingclub

Just enter our one time activation code: V76P4 and submit your order.

If you are not able to order online, please fill out the order form and return it with exact cash in an envelope labeled with your child’s name. No checks please!
