This how-to guide was created to assist you in navigating your program and prepare you for the state licensing exams.
Course Prep
Here is some information to help you successfully complete your course. Please read carefully.
Attendance: State regulations require that you complete all required hours and engage in all associated learning activities, quizzes, and the final exam for the course before proceeding to take the State licensing exam. Please see the course completion instructions in your Learning Management System (LMS) for the specifics of your state's enforced seat time tracking.
Getting Started: Read this course syllabus as it will be your most valuable reference tool. Access your Online Video course via the Learning Management System (LMS). Here, you'll find all course materials, including readings and videos, quizzes, and final exams. Additionally, you'll discover links to Live State and National LEARN Law Tracks, Live Learn Math sessions, Career Mentor Connect, QBanks, Live State and National Laws Exam Prep tracks, and the Community Forum.
Recommendations: Have a notebook, pen or pencil, and a highlighter with you while viewing the online course. Take a 10-minute break every hour to stretch, check emails, or grab more refreshments. Should you have any inquiries, please reach out.
Where do I begin?
Read this course syllabus. This will be your most valuable reference tool to help you successfully complete your program.
You will log into the Online course through your Learning Management System (LMS). This is where you will access all of your course materials, take your quizzes and exams, as well as find the links to the LEARN sessions, Career Mentor Connect, the Community Forum, and the QBanks. (Please see the Study Tools section to learn more about these tools.)
The first course you will start with is Washington Real Estate Fundamentals. This course is 60 hours and is comprised of 27 units. Each unit contains quick quizzes and an end-of-unit exam. Once you complete this course and have accrued the necessary hours, you will need to pass the final exam. A score of 70% or higher is considered passing.
The second course you will need to complete is Washington Real Estate Practices. This course is 30 hours and is comprised of 9 units. Each unit contains quick quizzes and an end-of-unit exam. Once you complete this course and have accrued the necessary hours, you will need to pass the final exam. A score of 70% or higher is considered passing.
Working through an online course can be demanding, so remember to take regular breaks to rest and recharge. Pace yourself to avoid burnout and maintain a healthy balance between studying and other activities. We recommend blocking off dedicated study time (about 2 hrs/day) in your schedule. Take time to reflect on your learning journey throughout the course. Consider what you've gained from the experience and how you can apply it to your professional development.

LEARN National Laws and LEARN Math sessions are live online classes that feature top-notch instructors and cover essential topics necessary for acing your licensing exam. Check the live online calendar to see when each session is offered. These sessions are supplemental to your regulated online course.
Access the sessions from your LMS via the Live Online Learning HUB. The Live Online Learning HUB is your portal to all of your live LEARN classes. It contains your Live Online calendar, the necessary Zoom links to attend the sessions, your class resources, and access to the Community Forum.
Attend single or multiple sessions to maximize your readiness.
Work through each unit topic reading materials and quick quizzes.
Print out and review the Key Point Review document at the end of each Unit. This is a good study tool to use when reviewing key unit topics before the final exam.
Complete and pass each unit exam. There are unlimited retries to pass the unit exams.
You must pass all unit exams before you can take the final exam.
The required hours to complete this coursework is 60 hours. You can check the time remaining in the upper right-hand corner of the LMS.
Once you have completed the required hours and the necessary coursework, take the final exam located in your LMS titled "Final Exam - Washington Real Estate Fundamentals: 60-hour Broker Prelicensing v3.0."
There are 180 questions, with unlimited retries, and you must pass with 70% or greater.
The test will time out after 20 min. of inactivity.
Once the final exam is passed, complete the affidavit, and download a copy of your certificate.
Work through all of the unit topic reading materials and quick quizzes.
Complete and pass each unit exam. There are unlimited retries to pass the unit exams.
You must pass all unit exams before you can take the final exam.
The required hours to complete this coursework is 30 hours. You can check the time remaining in the upper right-hand corner of the LMS.
Once you have completed the required hours and the necessary coursework, take the final exam located in your LMS titled "Final Exam - Washington Real Estate Practices: 30-hour Broker Prelicensing v3.0."
There are 90 questions, with unlimited retries, and you must pass with 70% or greater.
The test will time out after 20 min. of inactivity.
Once the final exam is passed, complete the affidavit, and download a copy of your certificate.
The Exam Prep course contains a National Real Estate Exam Prep Online Video Course and a State Exam Prep Online Video Course. Your course resources are found within the course in your LMS. You will utilize the exam prep workbook PDFs, pre-tests, and post-tests. This course will prepare you to take your licensing exams. We recommend breaking this course into 2 days for the National and 2 days for the State. Follow the instructions for the National information and repeat the same process for your State Exam Prep course.
Block off 2 hours and take the pre-test:
In your LMS, go to the National Real Estate Exam Prep Online Video Course and take the National Real Estate Exam Prep Pre-Test.
You will need a piece of scratch paper, a pencil, and a calculator while taking your exams.
After completing your Pre-Test:
Review every question. Know why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong.
Analyze the performance tracker results for each exam and note which areas were the weakest.
Write down specific questions you have after taking each exam.
You will need your National Real Estate Exam Prep Workbook PDF (you can print this out), a highlighter, a pen, and any questions you may have from the pre-test.
Watch the online video and highlight and star the tested areas in your exam prep book. Look up any questions that were challenging when you took your pre-test.
Review the National Exam Prep workbook and your test results. Use the QBank to take practice tests to strengthen your weak areas.
Understand the concepts. Know why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong.
Block off two hours and take the National Exam Prep Post-Test in the LMS.
Compare your post-test results to the pre-test results.
Review the performance tracker for each exam and note which areas were the weakest.
Determine your weak areas and create practice quizzes for those areas in the QBank.
If you score below 80%, go back and review the material.
If you score 80% or higher, you are ready to pass the National exams!
Repeat this process for your State Real Estate Exam Prep course.
If you score 80% or higher, you are ready to pass your State exam!
This will be a focused review of national real estate concepts essential for your licensing exam.

Access the session through Your Live Online Learning HUB (in your LMS).
Once inside the HUB, select Exam Prep: National Laws from the drop-down list on the top left.
Select Join to enter the live Zoom classroom.
Bring your National Real Estate Exam Prep Workbook PDF, a highlighter, a pen, and any content questions you may have.
Now is the time to ask questions that were challenging when you took your pre/post-tests.
Understand the concepts. Know why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong.
Be sure to pay attention to the wording. Infering things into a question usually leads to an incorrect answer.
Determine your weak areas and create practice quizzes for those areas in the QBank.
If you score below 80%, go back and review the material.
If you score 80% or higher, you are ready to pass the licensing exams!
PSI administers both the National and the State Broker Exams.
The two portions are intermixed and will not appear as separate sections.
National Exam - 100 questions
State Exam - 30 questions
The total time allowed for both portions of the exam is 3.5 hours.
To pass, you must attain a scaled score of 70%.

PSI exams are administered in person at 12 testing centers in Washington.
You may reschedule your exam appointment once at no charge provided it is 1 business day prior to the scheduled exam.
We recommend reviewing course materials for a few days after completion of the Exam Prep course before taking the PSI exams.
Don't cram the night before your scheduled exam. Get a good night's sleep and be well-rested for your exam.
Eat a meal or have a snack before the exam. You don't want to be hungry during your 3.5-hour exam window.
Arrive at the testing center early and make sure you have 2 forms of ID with you and no personal belongings.
Congratulations! You have officially completed all 90 hours of coursework. You should be very proud!
Please review the following checklist to be sure you have completed everything:
A total of 2 completion certificates (if you don't see one be sure you have affirmed your test)
Fingerprints and background check submitted (refer to 4 steps to get your Brokers license)
A date is scheduled for your PSI Exams (passing score = 70%)
