No. You may take any of the three courses in any order. However, the Commission recommends that you follow the course number sequence (301, 302, & 303), as course materials were developed with that sequence in mind.
In order to receive credit for the course you must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly on the final exam.
Post 301 - Broker Relationships & Responsibilities - 1 hour to complete
Post 302 - Contracts & Closings - 3 hours to complete
Post 303 - NC Laws, Rules, & Legal Concepts - 1 hour to complete
If you fail to complete the three Post courses during the 18-month deadline, your license will be put on inactive status by NCREC. You may NOT perform any brokerage activities or collect brokerage fees (including referral fees) while your license is Inactive. Refer to 58A.1902.
If you do not pass the first attempt you will have a second attempt available during your testing duration.
No. Postlicensing does not provide any CE credit.
Applicants who hold a current real estate license in another state that has been on active status within the previous three (3) years may waive the 75-hour North Carolina Broker Prelicensing Course as well as the National section of the North Carolina real estate license examination and do ONE of the following:
Pass the State section of the examination and be issued a NC real estate broker license in a status equivalent to the status in the other jurisdiction OR
Waive the State section of the examination, be issued a NC real estate broker license on provisional status, and take the 3 Ppost Llicensing classes within 18 months.
Brokers must pay NCREC’s annual renewal fee, registration fees for CE courses per year, and NC’s Privilege License annual fee.
Provisional Brokers must also pay registration and textbook fees for Post Llicensing courses.
