Mrs. Baird's 6th Grade

Class of 2024

Welcome to the 6th Grade, I am looking forward to a great year. This year in my class we will be focusing on science and social studies. In my classroom I like to have students work in groups. By doing this we will learn skills that they will need to have to get through this crazy life. It will be a great year to be a BUCKAROO!!

Student Materials

All students will be provided with:

  • 1 composition notebook.
  • 1 pencil.
  • 1 paper folder.

Students will also have access to scissors, glue sticks, crayons, and colored pencils.

*Anything else that you feel your student may need or want to use feel free to allow them to bring it.

My Goals for my classroom.

  • Having a positive mindset for learning.
  • Trying our best every day.
  • Not giving up.
  • Gain confidence in ourselves and our learning.
  • Being a good citizen at school along with outside of school.

Homework.

There will be very little homework assigned in my class. Homework will usually consist of work necessary to reinforce concepts introduce in class and preparation for tests. Most of the assignments can be complete in class; however, you should expect to see homework time to time. (If students do not finish classwork in the time allotted it will become homework.)

Expectations for Class.

  1. Be Prepared. This means come to class with all the materials that are needed.
  2. Planners need to be completed and signed every night.
  3. DO your best on ALL test and assignments.
  4. BE RESPECTFUL.

On our class calendar you will find dates that assignments are due, test dates, lessons for the day, what pages we filled out, and days that we are not in school. By using this calendar students will be responsible for checking it on the days they were absent and getting any missing work from me the following day they are in class.
