The long term research goal of my laboratory is to decipher molecular mechanisms of metastasis, i.e., the spread of cancer to distant organs, and ultimately to translate the insights obtained in basic research into clinical treatment of cancers.
Specifically, we are interested in the following topics.
1. Interplay between cancer cells and the microenvironment during metastatic process
2. Epigenetic regulation of cancer progression and metastasis
3. Drug responsiveness of metastatic cancer cells
In order to investigate these topics, we are using various approaches including cell culture-based studies, mouse model systems as well as genome-wide screening.
