Homework
Your child is expected and trusted to do the following tasks at home every week:
1. Read for 20 minutes per night and fill in their reading log.
2. Practise their spelling words that are sent home every night.
3. Practise their timetables 3-5 times a week.
This will not be marked or monitored by myself each week. This is because they are at the age where they should be able to do this at home independently. It would be appreciated if you, as their whanau, could reinforce this at home and support them when needed. I will do check-ins every so often though, to see how they are tracking.
In addition, throughout the term, I will set specific homework that needs to be completed and returned to school. This will not happen every week. There is always something your tamariki can do to practise their learning at home. Below are a few homework ideas for your tamariki to do independently or with your support. These activities are creative, engaging and should be enjoyable. This mahi will not be marked, however I would love to see and hear what projects have been taken on. Have fun!
Week Five - Pepeha
Please help your child fill this out to the best of your ability. Your maunga, awa etc. can be from anywhere that is special to you and your family!
