This term, we are starting a special journey with help from our friends from The Whitebait Connection. We are going to become scientists and observers of our local awa. We’ll start by asking: Is our water healthy? Are the creatures within it happy? What can we do next? This will be an on going school project—we are learning that we have a special job as Kaitiaki to look after the world around us, starting with our backyard. As our journey progresses we hope find ways to help our awa flourish and thrive, just like it did for our ancestors tūpuna.
