Reading
Read daily:
Sit down and enjoy a story together.
Use your child's school reader (in their book bag). Get them to read it, read it together or you read it to them. Talk about the story, identifying the setting, the characters and the action. Then retell the story in sequence.
Look at the focus sounds in the reader, these are on the back of the book. Help your child say and write the sounds. Find words with the focused sounds and make a list of these. Take one of the words with the focused sound and write it in a sentence.
Share a book that your child has chosen from the school library or others that you have a home.
Use the memory games that have been sent home.
Play Reading Eggs or Fast Phonics online (username and passwords have been sent home)
