M.Sc, Neuroscientist, Cognitive, biological, and behavioural Neuroscience
Shannon Sanguinetti, MSc is a Neuroscientific Researcher who has been investigating cognition and behavior since 2011. Her work specifically focuses on eradication of perceived mental blockages to achieve and maintain permanent states of happiness at individual and societal levels.
With a background in understanding the neural correlates of emotionally salient experiences, learned associations and extinguishment of maladaptive memory recall, Shannon delivers simple and actionable solutions to achieve positive and lasting behavioral change.
Following her graduate work, Shannon consulted with hundreds of researchers, government entities, and corporations to deliver IT solutions for unobtrusive observation and objective quantification of behavior across a variety of species. Of such she is committed to empowering Scientific Digital transformation.
SHANNON is the Founder and CEO of Zenka. She is a former Division 1 ACC scholarship soccer player, championship coach, Anatomy & Physiology dissection teacher and behavioral neuroscientific researcher. With an M.Sc. in Biology & Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, she truly sees value in health and wellness from every angle.
Born in Florida to Jamaican parents, when she was 15 years old her mother became suicidally depressed, seemingly in the blink of an eye. She couldn't understand what happened to her previously high-achieving super mom so she ventured into educating herself about the brain. Following her graduate research on stress, cognition, learning, memory and behavior, she worked with some of the most prominent companies and universities in the world, as they evaluated behavior in studies that ranged from bed bugs and centipedes, to rodents, pigs, primates, humans and more.
Yet still, at 33 years of age, Shannon found herself sick and depressed. So she began to re envision the principles of neuroscience, and apply them for her own benefit. A graduate of her own programs, she is able to relate to people on all levels, as she understands what it takes to transform from high to low performing, then back to high again.
Shannon's driving passion is a deep belief that finding everlasting peace, love and joy for all is something that can be taught through actionable and engaging principles of neuroscience. Working with educators, students, parents, athletes, coaches, businesses, healthcare providers, government entities, religious groups and more, Shannon translates and reformats complex neuroscientific findings into real life action items. The tools she teaches will immediately enhance how the individuals in your organization relate to each other, themselves and their surroundings.
Shannon is also a former championship athlete and coach, who enjoys incorporating techniques from the field into her work. Shannon is passionate about teaching these scientific principles in every aspect of life, as she believes them to be the key to unlocking sustainably positive mental health for all.
