In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. Shume has made notable contributions to the scientific community through his published works. His research on antimalarial pyronaridine resistance, co-authored with S. K. Kimani, sheds light on potential mechanisms associated with resistance development in Plasmodium berghei ANKA isolates. This work was published in the African Journal of Biochemistry Research in September 2020. Furthermore, Jacob has contributed to the field of environmental science with a conference paper presented at The 5th World Congress on Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering in October 2020. Titled "Methanogenesis Coupled Bioremediation of Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soil and Groundwater," this paper explores innovative approaches to bioremediation. Mr. Shume lends his passion and expertise further by serving as an Instructor at College of Health and Allied Development (CHAD).
