The charter is what makes a charter school a charter school. Essentially the charter is the contract between the state of Alaska and Discovery Peak. The charter provides the school with operational autonomy to pursue specific educational objectives regarding curriculum, staff, and budget. It also holds us accountable to the disctrict's standards.
