- Partner with community organizations to ensure a seamless continuum of supports are in place providing access, equity, and success for every student and family.
- Work with school counselors, teachers, and administration to assist and provide differentiated support to parents and students that identifies barriers.
- Support schools through the tier attendance intervention model.
- Support and promote #GetYourSelfieToSchool Program
Family Support - Increase Student | Family Preparedness
- Build strong relationships with families through check in home visiting.
- Support daily FRC referrals.
- Provide services to maximize the potential learning capacity of the child.
- Assist and strengthen families by providing referrals & resource information.
- Assist families to identify barriers and set problem solving goals
- Facilitate Student Expo program to serve all schools.
- Facilitate Angel Tree Christmas program.
Behavioral Health - Building Strong Brains - Trauma-Informed Schools
- Provide BSB Train the Trainer Training to remaining Eight Schools
- Support Trauma-Informed Leadership Committees through Monthly-Check Ins
- Focus on students identified & served through MTSS model
Family Training - Increase Parent Effectiveness
- Facilitate / Partner with School Social Worker to provide parent workshop event to focus on job-ready skills/ workforce development, parenting, budget, and adult literacy/education.
Collaboration | Partnerships - Increase School & Community Involvement
- Collaborate with community organizations to provide resources to students and families.
- Collaborate with community partners to engage and support school-based & district initiatives.
- Participate & serve on community based organizations/boards to maximize opportunities for students, families, and schools.
- Solicit additional funding from community and grants to support programs and initiatives
Professional Development for Educators
- Facilitate Poverty Simulation Training to schools’ faculty and staff
- Collaborate with school administrators to increase professional development opportunities around adverse childhood experiences, mental health, etc.
Family Resource Center's efforts align with Tennessee Department of Education's strategic plan, Tennessee Succeeds. The five priority areas of Tennessee Succeeds will serve as a guide to expand and enhance the work of FRC's.
- Early Foundations & Literacy: Building skills in early grades to contribute to future success
- High School & Bridge to Post Secondary: Preparing significantly more students for post secondary completion.
- All Means All: Providing individualized support and opportunities for all students with a focus on those who are farthest behind.
- Educator Support: Supporting the preparation and development of an exceptional educator workforce.
- District Empowerment: Providing districts with the tools and autonomy they need to make the best decisions for students.
FRC will continue its important work towards building a support system for every student to help reduce risk and promote protective factors so that all students achieve academic success and success in life.
