The School Counseling program is an integral part of the total educational program and is designed to meet the needs of all students. The goal of the School Counseling program is to help students, parents, and teachers develop positive learning experiences through: 1) Academic Counseling, 2) Career Counseling, and 3) Personal / Social Counseling. These are directed by The Standards for School Counseling Programs in Virginia Public Schools and accomplished through the following activities: school counseling curriculum lessons and activities, individual and small-group counseling, crisis counseling, appraisal and advisement, consultation, collaboration, and referrals, program planning & school support activities.
