Our October Book of the Month for Crozet is “Vote for Our Future.” In this book, elementary children learn about why schools close in November for voting. They explore the voting process and even find ways to get involved. With this year being a presidential election year, your child has already heard lots about voting!
This book will show them that even without being old enough to vote, they can still be a part of the process. And who knows? The next mayor, governor, senator, representative, or president might be reading this book with us on Zoom! You can check out our Book of the Month website for activities and talking points as well as some examples of activities we’ve done with our previous books of the month.
Thank you to the Crozet PTO for the funding to make our Book of the Month Club a possibility. This endeavor would not have been a possibility without their support!

BrainPop for Voting
• Have you ever dreamed of becoming president? What does or does not appeal to you about the job?
• Do you think the compensation and benefits offered to the president make the risks worth it?
• What qualities do you think are most important in a president? Do you recognize those qualities in any of today’s presidential candidates?
• Do you think these qualities might benefit other types of leaders other than presidents? Which of the qualities would benefit a school principal, team coach, or a business owner?
