As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on all of the wonderful memories we have made together with your students in Community Schools this year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown! From meeting new friends and building our community in the fall to all of the learning, laughter, and fun we shared throughout the year, it has truly been a special time together. We are so proud of how much the children have grown — not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Watching them build friendships, gain confidence, try new things, and support one another has been truly rewarding for all of us. Thank you for sharing your amazing kiddos with us this year - we have loved being part of their journey and appreciate all of the support from our families along the way. We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing summer and we look forward to seeing many familiar faces again next year!

Happy June Argenziano families! We are at the end of the school year already, wow this year went by fast! We have enjoyed being with your children, learning new skills in clubs & activities, and having lots of fun outside. We had an amazing turnout at our end of year Afterschool party. The 3rd-5th grade students helped to organize and run different stations and activities, including a student DJ & dance party on the stage, origami, trivia, board games, drawing, and a photo booth. We also had some activities on the tot lot outside, like bubbles & chalk. It was very nice to see all the kids who participated in running the stations and those who helped to organize things and create decorations. The kids had a blast! Thank you for coming!! We hope you all have a wonderful summer break and look forward to seeing you back in the fall!

The kids have been having a fantastic final month of the Afterschool program here at the Healey! We've really had a great year with the kids. It's been a blast watching them learn and grow, and we'll miss seeing them every week. We hope you have a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to see them in the fall!
If your rising 3rd-9th-grade child is part of the Afterschool Summer Program, then they will see Ms. O return to the Healey in a few weeks, as she is the Director of the program here at the Healey! I'm sure they will love to say hi after it's been so long! We also have a number of our teachers working at the Healey for the summer program, so they will have some familiar faces around, including Mr. T, Ms. Maria, Ms. Suri, and Ms. Delmis. It will be a blast!
We look forward to our Afterschool party on the last day of Afterschool, Wednesday, June 17th. We hope for good weather so we can be outside and enjoy the sun one final day!
From everyone here at the Afterschool program, we wish you all a fantastic summer!

Hello June! It has been a great ‘25/26 school year. This year provided so much growth for our kiddos! We’ve seen some fantastic new clubs and some unrelenting favorites. It truly takes a village to bring in the awesome clubs to our after-school program. This year, we brought back everyone’s favorites: Danger Wizard, Outdoor Adventure, Pokemon Club, and many more! Some of our new clubs: Dinosaur Club, Yarn Club, Karaoke Club, Painting Club, and so many more that brought us to new adventures!
We look forward to capping off the end of the year with an exciting slate of activities, with waterplay, trips to the park, field day, and our afterschool celebration, Tropical Dance! Which will take place on June 17th from 5pm-7pm!
We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing summer break! We look forward to welcoming back those returning for another amazing year in the fall!
Thank you again for all your continued support and partnership throughout the year and for helping make this such an incredible year!

Happy Summer, everyone! What a fabulous year we’ve had together! We are so grateful to have had the time to get to know your kiddos and watch them learn and grow over the school year. We’ve had a lot of fun in Afterschool this year, and we were so lucky to have celebrated with you all at our FIFA Fiesta last week! As always, thank you all for the support and collaboration that we receive year-round from all of our families. We could not have done it without you!
As part of our celebration and festivities, we would like to recognize and extend special congratulations to Mr. Mejia or second grade assistant teacher, who graduated this May with his Associate’s Degree! And to four amazing Somerville High School seniors graduating with the Class of 2026: Olivia Oliveira, Kayla Lopez, Jessy Munoz, and Bryan Rodriguez. These students have been a wonderful part of our program, building positive relationships with staff and students throughout the year. We are grateful for all of their hard work, kindness, dedication, and leadership. We are incredibly grateful for the positive energy and bright minds they brought to our community. They will always remain a valued part of our program family. We wish them continued success in their future endeavors. Congratulations to all four graduates!
If you’re joining us for the summer, we look forward to having you! If not, we hope you have a great summer break and can’t wait to see you next year!

Now, as the year is coming to a close, it is time to look back on where we came from, and how we got to where we are today. We had a busy year, and over that time, the children grew in innumerable ways. Children always seem to grow rapidly from ages four to five and five to six. This year, as in all years, our children had a wide array of challenges to confront. When there were problems, we tried our best to help children handle whatever problems arose. We hope that through our guidance, we left them better equipped to deal with similar situations in the future.
We’ve read lots of books and done lots of activities this year. Recently, classes have done activities about looking back at the year and ahead towards the summer and next school year. You can also see other activities like Zoo Animals featured in the photos.
All in all, it’s been an exciting year. We had a wonderful end of the year potluck. We would like to thank all the parents for their contributions and their presence. Take a look at the party photos. We hope that everyone had a great time! It’s great to see happy faces!
We are delighted to have been a part of the life of your child during the past year. We wish both students and parents happiness and success in the future.

Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of the school year! It has been an incredibly exciting journey, and we are so proud of how hard our students and staff have worked from our start back in August, through the chilly winter months, and now into the warm days of June. It has been an absolute privilege to watch, teach, and care for your children in the Kennedy After School Program, and our staff's energy is constantly renewed by your children's wonderful enthusiasm. As a special goodbye to the year, our older students recently wrapped up their third club session with some amazing accomplishments. In the Helping Hands club, our crafty students spread joy by making beautiful cards and bracelets for patients at Boston Children’s Hospital, while the soccer enthusiasts in Footy Fanatics spent 10 weeks sharpening their skills for the World Cup. Time absolutely flew in our Animation club, where the children explored 3D shapes through math, science, and geometry, diving into drawing and building with LEGOs. Meanwhile, the Mindful club provided a perfect, relaxing space for students to unwind by creating colorful, patterned artwork from custom envelopes to large placemats. While our older students were busy with their clubs, our younger kids had an absolute blast with some of their favorite end-of-year activities, staying incredibly busy creating intricate Perler bead designs and making gooey slime, a wonderfully hands-on project that they always love.
Our Pre-K class spent this final month learning all about ocean animals, reading fascinating books on everything from crabs and whales to sharks and dolphins, and bringing their favorite sea creatures to life through beautiful art projects. It truly is hard to believe that this is the final newsletter of the school year; it has been an absolute honor teaching this Pre-K class, watching them grow over the months, and we are so excited to see all the wonderful things that kindergarten has in store for them. Thank you all for partnering with us for such a memorable year, and we hope you have a fantastic summer!

Hello Afterhour Wildcats, we have officially wrapped up the school year with each other, and we are so thankful for all the memories we have created! Students spent their last couple of days in school enjoying some World Cup matches, attending the End of the Year FIFA Celebration, and also some time chilling inside while engaging in fun activities. We also wrapped up Session 3 clubs with style. During our FIFA celebration, students enjoyed some time in the East playground and some popsicles to top it off! There was dancing, soccer, lots of whistles, and limited-edition soccer themed tattoos.
As the school year comes to a close, our students have enjoyed special end-of-year activities, outdoor play opportunities, and time to reflect on all they have accomplished. We are incredibly proud of their growth, enthusiasm, and positive energy throughout the year.
Thank you to all of our students, families, staff, and school partners for helping make this a successful and memorable year. We wish everyone a safe, fun, and relaxing summer and look forward to seeing many of you again next year!

Westies!
And just like that, it's time for us to say farewell until the fall!
What an incredible year it has been. We are so grateful for your support, smile, and trust in our afterschool program. This year was filled with a lot of laughter, friendships, and unforgettable memories.
I can honestly say that everyone had an amazing time. We ended the year on a wonderful note with a huge and successful Fiesta celebration! Students enjoyed delicious ice cream, the biggest bubbles you have ever seen, and, of course, the excitement of kicking off World Cup opening festivities.
On behalf of our entire afterschool team, thank you for being part of such a tremendous year. We hope you have a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer. Enjoy the time with family and friends, make wonderful memories, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the fall!
Have a fantastic summer!
