Welcome! I look forward to watching your student grow in their writing, grammar, speaking, and critical thinking skills. 8th grade ELA is heavily focused on preparing students for high school writing. If you're unable to access the links below, your student has access to everything they need on their school-issued iPad.

What do I do if I am absent?
You will check Planbook and Google Classroom for classwork/assignments that you missed.
Where do I go to find agendas and assignments?
Google Classroom hosts our class website. This site will house the weekly agendas, assignment due dates, PDF copies of class handouts, important announcements, and links to outside resources. Please check it daily.
How will I check my grade in class?
Parents and students are strongly encouraged to check Infinite Campus on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY class. To access the grades portal, please call the office.
How do I get into Honors English at SBHS?
We consider two things when making recommendations--your trimester grade that you earn and your state assessment performance. The high school asks that we recommend the students who demonstrate a strong understanding of reading, writing, and grammar.

Please be patient as the library staff has to enter each student in manually. If you would like to check out a book online, you may visit the librarian and she can set up your account for you if it's not already set up.
