Operation First Look is an event that takes place during the summer for about a week, in which any student in 8th grade or currently in Douglas High School has an opportunity to take a look at what we do in the SD-061st AFJROTC. By attending this, there is absolutely no obligation to join AFJROTC, but it is highly encouraged!
At Operation First Look, our instructors and our cadets will put together a few things for all of us to do. some of the things are:
Our current cadets will create some presentations to show you what we do and what some of the opportunities are at AFJROTC.
You will be able to participate in a Cadet-led PT (Physical Training) session.
Take a look into some of our special teams (Drill Team, Honor Guard, Model/Rocket Club, Raiders, and more!)
Go on a Field Trip for a day and just have some fun!
And more....
Operation First Look is a great opportunity to take a further look into what we do in our AFJROTC unit. We here in the SD-061st think that AFJROTC is a great group to be a part of, as you can benefit a lot from it. There are multiple Scholarship opportunities, you can develop a lot of useful skills, and you have a great time while doing it!
This is especially for you if you're unsure if you want to join AFJROTC. You get to see and participate in just about everything we do, without even being in the corps yet. So if you're unsure about joining, join us for a week and make your decision after!
Love to hear that! You can contact our SASI (Senior Aerospace Instructor) Lt Col Morrow for more information on how to sign up, or you could contact one of the Cadets currently in the corps.
Can't wait to see you there!
