In first and second grade, we focus on regulating our thoughts, feelings, and actions.  We use the "Zones of Regulation" Curriculum that revolves around 4 colored zones that help to tell us if we are being appropriate or inappropriate in our environments.  The Red Zone means we are getting out of control, and are either too loud, rambunctious or crazy in our environment.  The Yellow Zone means that there are warning signs that we may be getting too riled up.  The Green Zone means we are good to go! The students are acting in an acceptable way that matches their environment.  Blue Zone means that we are low and slow.  This might mean that we are super quiet, sleepy or behind what others may be doing.
