Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
(ASVAB)
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.
This test is given annually to all juniors. The test date this year is TBD. Taking this test in no way binds you to the armed services.
National Career Readiness Certificate
(NCRC)
The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC™) is an industry-recognized, portable, evidence-based credential that certifies skills necessary for workplace success. This credential is used across all sectors of the economy and verifies cognitive skills.
This test is given annually to all seniors. The test date this year is September 27, 2023.
American College Testing
(ACT)
The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test.
The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
This test is administered multiple times every year at multiple locations. It is typically taken between the spring of your junior year and the fall of your senior year. This test is not required by Sully Buttes HS.
