About Me:
Hello! I'm Rebecca Millan. I grew up on a farm outside of Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School. I live on an acreage near Mitchell with my husband and our many pets. I will teach Civics, World History, and AP Government this semester. This is my fourth year teaching at Mitchell High School. Before teaching at the Hgh School, I taught 7th Grade ELA at Mitchell Middle School. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was an attorney for seven years. I worked as a prosecutor at the Brown County State's Attorney's Office in Aberdeen, SD for four years, and then I returned to Mitchell and worked at a private law firm for three years before switching careers. In my free time, I enjoy reading and traveling (during non-COVID times). I'm also a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Denver Broncos! Fun fact: When I was a kid I had a pet llama named Fred! I've listed my educational experience below:
B.S. University of South Dakota - History and Political Science
J.D. (law degree) University of South Dakota
M.S. Black Hills State University - Secondary Education
About Webpage :
The purpose of this webpage is to give parents some general information about individual courses. There is a page for each course. That page outlines the goals for the course, units of study, and media sources that might be used in the course. I invite parents to join your student's Google Classroom page to see the daily agenda for the course, assignment due dates, and links to materials that are utilized.
