Celery Experiment

       In our science chapter on Plants Grow and Change, we learned about the parts of a plant.  We talked about how the stem carries water from the roots to the leaves.  To prove this, we put celery into red water.  We made predictions as to what we think will happen to the celery after one day and then after a few days.  Mrs. Holsworth forgot to take before pictures but she has after pictures.  We noticed how the leaves turned red and that the tubes in the celery were also red.  We were able to see that the stem does carry water from the roots and to the leaves because the stem and tube had a red coloring to them,
