Dear Cavalier Families,
We are excited to welcome back students for another incredible school year! We hope this message finds you relaxed, refreshed, and ready to begin a new journey of learning and growth. As we prepare for the 25-26 school year, we extend a warm welcome to our returning families and a special greeting to those joining our Cavalier Family for the first time!
At JHS, we truly believe that "All Means All." We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student and family feels seen, valued, and supported. We know that every member of our school community plays an essential role. We work to celebrate the unique strengths and talents that everyone brings to our school. We also believe that "People Matter Most." Our dedicated team of educators, staff, and administrators are here to not only support your student's academic success, but also to nurture their social and emotional development. We are committed to partnering with you to help your student thrive as building positive relationships is at the heart of our work! Lastly, we aim to "Compete for Excellence" on a daily basis. This happens in the classroom, in extra curriculars, and in relationships. We challenge our students and staff to strive for their best. We know that with grit, determination and resilience, our community is better today than we were yesterday; we will be better tomorrow than we were today.
As we gear up for the year ahead, we are excited to invite you to two events prior to the school year: Cavalier Day and Gold Rush Night. Below are the dates of those two events as well as a reminder for the first day of school to get on your calendar.
We look forward to seeing all students at these events and on the first day of school! Thank you for your continued support and trust. Together, we can make the next chapter in student's lives a memorable and successful one! If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (605)-367-6184. We are here to support your student and your family every step of the way!
Sincerely,
Jefferson High School Administration

For those new to JHS, Cavalier Day is where students complete the tasks of school pictures, parking passes, busing information and passes, chromebook insurance, activities passes, yearbook sales and more! The schedule for the day is below. To find the time in which your student should arrive for Cavalier Day, locate the grade in the top row and find the birth month of your child. Please make sure to come during your student's designated time.
Below the schedule you will find links to pre-register and pre-pay for various items. By pre-registering and pre-paying, you will significantly expedite the process and minimize the time spent waiting in line(s) at Cavalier Day. At the end of this newsletter, you will find step by step directions for both updating annual student information and how to purchase items through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. At Cavalier Day, we will accept cash, check and credit/debit cards.
To alleviate congestion at Cavalier Day, students are given a time slot based upon their grade and birth month. ALL current JHS students are expected to attend.
