Social Studies Overview

This year in Social Studies learners will learn and experience the content by talking, listening, watching, doing, and reflecting.  Each of these parts will be done individually and collectively with peers over the course of the year.

In 6th grade Social Studies we will primarily be learning about ancient civilizations and geography skills, like reading and interpreting a map. The ancient civilizations learners will be going over begins during the Paleo and Neolithic Age, talking about early nomads and cavemen, to the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Israel. Followed by dynasties in ancient China and India; and then the ancient Greece and Rome. We will end the year in Europe with the Dark Ages, Enlightenment, Scientific Revolution, and French Revolutions.
