About me: Hello! My name is Ms. Annie Walker (Anne is my legal name and I've always gone by Annie, but you can use either!) I'm excited to be starting a new journey in Baltic this school year as the Secondary Counselor (grades 6-12).
I am a native of Sioux Falls and still live there today. After graduating with my undergraduate degree from Augustana, I went on to complete a Master's Degree in Counseling from SDSU. I then spent 13 years as a school counselor in Sioux Falls, with 9 years at the middle school level and 4 years at the high school level. After taking some time off last year, I knew I wanted to return to the school setting and was lucky enough to find Baltic!
I love getting to know young people, whether it be helping them solve a problem, support them through a difficult time, or provide them with important information. One thing I love about school counseling is the many hats I wear. I encourage everyone to ask for help and also try new things. Middle and high school are such a good time to grow.
When I'm not at work, you can find me spending time with family and friends, baking up something new in my kitchen, or at book club. I'm also a pianist in my spare time. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
